SCARBOROUGH, Ont. – The St. Lawrence College Sharks men’s hockey team came home with silver from the University of Toronto Scarborough Invitational.

The Sharks blanked Georgian College 6-0 in the first game and then took down Humber College 6-2 in the second matchup.

Game Three saw Cornwall defeat U of T Scarborough 3-1 and then defeat the same team 3-2 in the semifinals.

The final game saw the Sharks lose 4-3 in overtime to Humber College. Colin Allaire scored his first goal as a Shark, with Brandon Gilmour adding two goals. The teams would play through a scoreless overtime that would send the game to a shootout where the Hawks came out ahead, winning 4-3.

“Nobody believed we would have the day we had. We came up here missing our starting goalie and five regulars, who are important pieces of our team,” said an impressed Sean Boulerice. “Mike (Pettinella) and I can’t say enough about what we were able to accomplish.”

The Sharks next tournament is the Georgian College Invitational on March 5th.
