CORNWALL – For the second year in a row, Cornwall Air Cadets will be represented at the Provincial Biathlon Competition.
A team of cadets from the 325 Cornwall Kiwanis Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron competed at the Eastern Ontario Area Biathlon Competition at Camp Fortune in Chelsea, Quebec.
Out of eight cadets between the ages of 12 to 18, one placed third in his category of Junior Males.
Paul-André Moncrieff – a 14-year-old Cornwall resident – will be representing Eastern Ontario at the Provincial Biathlon Competition in Sault Saint Marie on Feb. 7, 2015.
The race consists of five kilometers cross country skiing combined with marksmanship. Contestants must shoot 10 targets with a .22 Anshutz rifle. Moncrieff has been skiing since he was four and is in his second year on the cadet’s biathlon team. He finished this year with a total time of 33 minutes and 15 seconds, with a total of six targets hit.
