CORNWALL – After nearly 33 years of service with the RCMP, Inspector Tim Kimpan has announced his retirement.

Kimpan has been in charge of the Cornwall Regional Task Force (CRTF) since 2008.

Kimpan has been stationed in a number of places including Ottawa National Headquarters, Kirkland Lake and Sudbury. His career has included a peace-keeping mission in Haiti with the United Nations as well as four years with the O.P.P. Biker Enforcement Unit.

His retirement will start in March – on a lucky day for him – Friday the 13th.

“I am leaving happy and healthy after a fulfilling and challenging career with the force. My departure however is with mixed emotions as I know that I will miss my coworkers and the numerous partners with whom I enjoyed working over the years,” says Kimpan.

Although his replacement has not yet been determined, he is confident that another officer worthy of leading the CRTF will be found shortly.

The Cornwall Regional Task Force is a partnership between the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Canada Border Services Agency, Ontario Provincial Police, Akwesasne Mohawk Police and the Ontario Ministry of Finance.
