WINCHESTER – There have been many positive changes for the Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) over the last year.
Some of these changes include a new chairman of the WDMH Board of Directors, Stephen McClellan, who took the position in June 2014.
“I am honoured to be able to work with the warm, caring and highly professional staff at WDMH,” says McClellan. “In addition to the outstanding care provided to our patients every single day, we can all be very proud of our achievements over the past year.”
Some of these changes have been to staffing; WDMH has welcomed new family physicians, an obstetrician, two family medicine residents, a chief of surgery, a social worker and a chief research officer.
WDMH has also introduced a new Cancer Care Navigation Program, which has made a great impact on the care of cancer patients. Along with these changes the hospital now also provides more services through the Ontario Telemedicine Network, creating easier accessibility for patients.
WDMH says it’s pleased to announce its success over the last year, and has received healthy workplace awards from the Ontario Hospital Association and the Eastern Ontario Health Unit.
“In the coming year, we will continue to focus on providing the very best care and to working with our health care partners to meet the needs of our local communities,” says McClellan.
