WINCHESTER – The power of social media has resulted in the identification and arrest of a liquor theft suspect in North Dundas.

SD&G O.P.P. released an image Monday from security footage of a man taking liquor bottles from a store on County Road 3 near Winchester.

The incident happened on Saturday night around 6 p.m.

O.P.P. Const. Joel Doiron says several social media postings and followup by officers resulted in the arrest of a man from North Grenville Township on Tuesday.

The man, 23, is charged with theft under $5,000 and will appear in a Morrisburg court Feb. 3.
