Puddles for Christmas: Environment Canada

SD&G – The chances of a white Christmas are looking pretty slim.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Sunday night as we are expecting milder weather this week.

Despite the calendar saying it’s winter, the weather agency says rain is likely on Tuesday as a low pressure system over the U.S. Midwest pushes into Ontario.

There is the possibility of freezing rain late in the day on Tuesday.

More mild, rainy weather is expected Christmas Eve with a high of 7 in Cornwall and Christmas Day is looking like a rain-snow mix with a high of +2.

“Don’t expect much if any accumulation (of snow) for a white Christmas,” said meteorologists.

The weather experts say there is some “discrepancy in the weather models” so things could change before Santa Claus takes off to deliver gifts on Christmas Eve.
