CORNWALL – A Cornwall-area businessman has bought the struggling Cornwall River Kings hockey team.
Steve Moreau and his family purchased the team, which received LNAH approval Wednesday.
“It’s exciting but this isn’t about me,” said Moreau. “It’s about the River Kings and it’s quite obvious that the City of Cornwall loves this team.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Moreau becomes the fourth owner of the team, which has had a rocky go of it lately, at least in the front office.
All season tickets are being honoured for the rest of the season.
The River Kings will play host to Riviere-du-Loup on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
Before that, Cornwall will be visiting Trois-Rivieres on Friday night.
