LANCASTER – The South Glengarry Fire Service will be getting some new fire rescue equipment.

The fire service received $4,000 from DuPont Pioneer through their FIRE (Funding Initiative for Rural Emergencies) program.

The donation came after Richard Leblanc, a firefighter at North Lancaster Station #5, made the funding application.

“On behalf of South Glengarry Fire Services, I would like to thank DuPont Pioneer for this generous donation,” said Fire Chief Vic Leroux.

“We are also thankful for Richard’s efforts in securing these funds, which will assist us in purchasing basic rescue equipment that will benefit all Fire Stations in South Glengarry.”
