CORNWALL – If you plans take you south of the border for Black Friday or to visit American relatives for Thanksgiving, the Canada Border Services Agency is warning you to expect delays.
The CBSA says peak travel times at the Cornwall port of entry will be 5-6 p.m. on Saturday and 4-8 p.m. on Sunday when waiting at the border could be over a half hour.
The border agency says you can speed up the process by making sure to have all receipts handy plus your proper identification.
When declaring goods, you’re only allowed to bring back $200 in goods duty- and tax-free after you’ve been in the United States 24 hours. After 48 hours, you can bring in a maximum of $800.
