MAXVILLE – A North Glengarry man is facing a drug-related charge after trying to avoid a RIDE spotcheck.
O.P.P. say a vehicle tried to avoid their setup to check for impaired driving on Fair Street in Maxville just after 1 a.m. on Friday and officers went after the suspect.
But the driver bailed out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
Police say they found a small amount of cocaine in the vehicle.
Officers eventually caught up with the suspect nearly 14 hours later and arrested a 20-year-old North Glengarry man.
He’s charged with possession of a controlled substance and will appear in Alexandria court in January.
