CORNWALL – A veteran principal from Cornwall with a background in education is the Upper Canada District School Board’s newest superintendent of education.
Tim Mills is currently the executive director of the Upper Canada Leger Center for Education and Training (UCLCET).
In addition to UCLCET, Mills will be responsible for international education and the T.R. Leger School of Adult, Alternative and Continuing Education.
He will also supervise Cornwall and Dundas County schools.
Mills has over 10 years experience in the local education system, including almost five years as principal at General Vanier in Cornwall.
Interim Director of Education Charlotte Patterson says having Mills in this new capacity will allow the board to better supervise principals and balance workloads among senior staff.
“I’m looking forward to working in our schools and wider communities to advance the cause of student learning,” said Mills. “I’m really excited about the challenges ahead.”
His new job starts Dec. 1.
