WILLIAMSBURG – There’s been another home invasion in SD&G…this time in South Dundas, about 10 kilometers northeast of Williamsburg.
SD&G O.P.P. say three black men burst into a home on Weegar Road in South Dundas around 9:22 p.m. Monday night and pulled knives on the man at the home, demanding cash.
The suspects stole two long guns and took off in a passenger vehicle.
The victim wasn’t injured, police say.
The first suspect is described as black, about 5’6”-5’7”, tall and slender, with short curly hair and was wearing a dark hoodie, track pants, running shoes and a tan-coloured baseball cap.
The second male suspect is also black, roughly 5’9” and had a blue hoodie on with a baseball cap.
The third suspect is black, tall and slender, and had a dark-coloured hoodie pulled over his head.
The M.O. and descriptions of the suspects are very similar to a home invasion about 80 kilometers away in North Glengarry around 1 a.m. on Oct. 31.
In that case, a homeowner was injured when two black male suspects and an East Indian man burst into a home on Menard Road and took guns, jewelry and cash.
O.P.P. Const. Joel Doiron tells Cornwall Newswatch, at this point, both crimes are being investigated as separate incidents.
Doiron couldn’t say whether the front doors on both homes were locked at the time of the invasions.
But he is encouraging people to make all their doors and windows are locked and their homes are secure.
