BARCELONA, Spain – The company in charge of tabulating votes for many of the townships in SD&G election night has apologized for a lengthy delay.
Scytl North American General Manager Brian O’Connor said they discovered an inconsistency with the naming of some election results files, in a statement released Tuesday morning.
As a result, the company had to rerun the numbers again and also do a full manual count.
That left voters cooling their heels in many township offices for hours after the polls closed at 8 p.m. Some results didn’t come in until 11:30 p.m.
“Our first priority is to ensure the integrity of the election,” said O’Connor.
“Scytl sincerely apologizes for the delay in the distribution of the results from yesterday’s municipal election and we thank the municipalities, local candidates, media, and voters for their patience and understanding,” read the statement in part.
