CORNWALL – The SPCA is asking for your help in finding the person who dumped three puppies on the doorstep of the shelter.

A video camera at the Boundary Road branch captured someone dropping the three dogs over a two meter (seven foot) fence around 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

Two of the puppies are border collie-crosses and one is a terrier-mix.

“Abandoning a pet is never the right answer,” said Steve Toy, Senior Inspector.

The puppies are doing well and getting care they need, said the SPCA.

SD&G SPCA Animal Care Coordinator Julie Bourgon tells Cornwall Newswatch the puppies are in a “holding period” right now to allow vaccinations to take effect.

Bourgon says they will be available for adoption on Monday. The shelter is open from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. and adoption is on a first-come basis.

The cost of adoption is $340, which includes spaying or neutering, shots, de-worming and micro-chipping.

If you have any information on who may have abandoned the dogs you’re asked to call 310-SPCA.
