SD&G – No less than a half dozen drivers in SD&G had their vehicles impounded for excessive speeding over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Provincial police say they stopped drivers on Highways 417 and 401 for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h.

In one case, an 47-year-old driver from Ottawa is accused of going 171 km/h on Highway 417 in North Glengarry.

In all cases the drivers had their vehicles impounded for a week and their driver’s licences suspended for the same amount of time.
