MORRISBURG – The Dundas County Food Bank had hoped to be in a new location – part of the former town library – by the new year.

But it looks like the project has been hit with delays and the move from the Second St. location likely won’t happen until the spring.

Food bank administrator Ian McKelvie tells The Morrisburg Leader they are applying for money from various places to offset the $46,000 cost for relocation. The Municipality of South Dundas has also offered up an interest-free loan.

The food bank is also struggling with food donations drying up over the summer as well as a roughly 15% increase in demand county-wide compared to last year.

The Morrisburg location of the Dundas County Food Bank serves 85 to 100 families a month.
