Sorel thumps Kings again

CORNWALL, Ont. – The Cornwall River Kings saw almost of a repeat of their performance in Sorel-Tracy, Que. The Eperviers came out strong in Cornwall, scoring four unanswered goals in the first period of pre-season action last night. The same scenario happened Friday night in Sorel-Tracey when the Kings lost 6-1. The River Kings tried to rally back in Saturday night’s game but fell short in a 7-3 loss at the Ed Lumley Arena. Cornwall had a lone goal in the second period from Anthony Mezzagno. Then Cornwall added three more in the third from Jean-Phillipe Caron, Julien Houle and Sasha Pokulok. Cornwall outshot Sorel-Tracy 42-32. There were 1,269 people at the Ed for last night’s game. The River Kings open the regular season Friday night at 8 p.m. in Rivere-du-Loup.
