Two Cornwallites charged in province-wide child porn bust

VAUGHAN, Ont. – Two Cornwallites are among 60 people charged after a province-wide child pornography bust. Provincial police executed 99 search warrants and made the arrests, laying 249 charges. Among those charged are 32-year-old Mathieu Pahle and 50-year-old Steven Seyeau, both of Cornwall. They are both facing one count each of possession of child pornography. Both will appear in a Cornwall court on October 30, 2014.

During a news conference this morning in Vaughan, police showed an animated map with over 7,000 individual IP addresses over a 180 period that were suspected access points for child porn. “This investigation highlights the pervasiveness of Internet-based dangers of child luring, sexual exploitation and abuse. Children, teens and parents also have a responsibility to educate themselves to ensure their Internet and social networking experiences can be as rewarding as they want it to be and as safe as it needs to be. Because every child matters…everywhere,” said Inspector Scott Naylor of the O.P.P. Child Sexual Exploitation Unit.
