Driver caught at 175 km/h on 417: O.P.P.

SD&G, Ont. – Three drivers had their vehicles yanked off the highway over the weekend for excessive speeding. SD&G O.P.P. say the first driver they caught was going 175 km/h on Highway 417 in North Glengarry on Friday morning. There’s no information on the driver charged, say police. The second was caught on Saturday afternoon allegedly going 166 km/h on Highway 401 in South Stormont. A 39-year-old man from Winnipeg is charged. Then on Saturday night a police officer caught a 19-year-old woman burning through South Glengarry on the 401 allegedly going 157 km/h. In all cases the drivers had their licences suspended for a week and their vehicles impounded for seven days under Ontario’s street racing law.
