KINGSTON, Ont. – Three faces from Cornwall are among the newest additions to the St. Lawrence College Board of Governors. Marg Hogan, Denis Martel and Abdollah Vakily are among the seven new internal and community members for the 2014-15 school year. Hogan has been the manager of student services in Brockville and Cornwall and has lived in the Seaway City for over three decades. Martel is born and raised in Cornwall and has more time to be involved in the community with his retirement. Vakily is the founding member and director for the Islamic Education and Muslim School in Cornwall.
The SLC Board of Governors also has a new chairman and two vice-chairman. Steve Thompson will head up the board while Michael Adamcryck and Anne-Marie Bonneau will be second in command. On its website, SLC says the board provides a vital link between the college and the community, as well as holding responsibility for setting the vision, mission, and strategic direction of the college.
