CORNWALL, Ont. – If you see people being evacuated from Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge in the city’s east end today don’t worry. The city is conducting an emergency drill at the long term care home. The planning exercise will start at 9 a.m. and will last until 3 p.m. The city says there will be role players acting as displaced residents and will be taken to the city’s evacuation center – the Cornwall Civic Complex. The Emergency Operation Center will also be in operation performing a so-called “table top exercise” of different emergency scenarios. By law, the city has to test out its emergency plans once a year. It’s also asking relatives of Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge residents to avoid visiting the long term care home on Montreal Rd. until 11:30 a.m. or to be there before 9 a.m. to be with family members during the exercise.
