$4 million drug bust near Green Valley: O.P.P.

GREEN VALLEY, Ont. – Provincial police have shut down a drug trafficking ring near Green Valley with the arrests of six people. Several O.P.P. forces under Project Paradigm searched two properties on Concession Road 7 and Cuthbert Road in South Glengarry yesterday. Officers seized nearly 3,800 marijuana plants, 186 lbs. of marijuana bud, 237 lbs. of marijuana shake and 75 lbs. of a mixture to produce hash oil. Police say all the drugs are worth about $4 million. Officers also dismantled what they’re calling an elaborate drying system for marijuana. Six people were arrested at the scene – a 57-year-old man from South Glengarry, a 57-year-old man from Hawkesbury, a 66-year-old man from Ottawa and three men from Mexico, ages 39, 41 and 50. They are each facing drug production and trafficking related charges. All six will be in a Cornwall court October 29, 2014.
