CORNWALL, Ont. – It could be billed as “everything you wanted to know about being a city councillor or school board trustee candidate but were afraid to ask.” The city clerk’s office is holding an information session on Thursday next week for those interested in running. The September 4 event from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Civic Complex will allow people to learn about governance, roles and responsibilities and time commitments to name a few. Clerk Helen Finn says it’s a good opportunity for candidates and hopefuls to gain a better understanding. The deadline to file a nomination is September 12 at 2 p.m. We go to the polls October 27.
