Rocks piled on train tracks in South Stormont: police

SOUTH STORMONT, Ont. – Local O.P.P. are looking for whomever piled rocks on the CN railway tracks. SD&G O.P.P. officers and South Stormont Township firefighters were called to the tracks in the area of Avonmore Rd. and Post Rd. (County Roads 15 & 36) around 8:45 p.m. last night. Firefighters found partially burnt cardboard boxes in the area and also a pile of rocks on the tracks. Police say the rocks could have led to train damage or a derailment. There were no injuries and police haven’t made any arrests. Police are asking anyone with information to call SD&G O.P.P. at 1-888-310-1122.
