Woman charged in meat theft

CORNWALL, Ont. – There is some meat to this latest crime. A Cornwall woman was arrested yesterday after she went into a Ninth Street East grocery store and allegedly pinched some packages of meat. Police say the woman made no attempt to pay for them. She was caught by store security as she tried to leave and was later arrested by Cornwall police. The 30-year-old is facing charges of theft under $5,000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. She will be in court September 16.
