SD&G, Ont. – You’ll find a few closures around Cornwall and SD&G this civic holiday weekend. On Monday, banks and government offices (including the City of Cornwall, the United Counties and township administrative offices) will be closed. Cornwall Transit will not be running and the transit office will be closed. However, there will be regular activities at the Aquatic Center, the Benson Center and the Civic Complex. The Cornwall Public Library will be closed on Monday. If your garbage and recycling is normally picked up the first day of the work week that pickup has been delayed until Tuesday. Other collection will be delayed a day for the remainder of next week.
The Brookdale location of the LCBO will be open (12 p.m.-5 p.m.) while the Sydney Street outlet of the Beer Store will be open (11 a.m.-6 p.m.). Some retail stores will still be open because the civic holiday is not considered a statutory holiday under Ontario Retail Business Holidays Act. Cornwall Square will be open as well.
