CORNWALL, Ont. — A Cornwall woman won’t be able to own or care for animals for the rest of her life. That sentence was handed down last week after Brenda Stang pleaded guilty to three counts of animal cruelty. An SPCA investigator found a husky-type dog in distress at Stang’s home in March after receiving a call to investigate. Court heard the dog smelled of urine and feces, was emaciated and had difficulty breathing. Stang had surrendered the canine to the SPCA but due to the dog’s condition it had to be put down. In addition to the lifetime ban, Stang also had to surrender her other dog and cat and will be on probation for two years.
