Power knocked out by lightning strike

CORNWALL/SOUTH GLENGARRY – Around 600 Cornwall Electric customers along County Road 2 are without power this afternoon after a lightning strike.

Cornwall Electric said in a tweet the outage affects residents between Cornwall and Summerstown.

A crew is working on the problem as of noon and power was expected to be restored by 1:30 p.m.

The region has been under a severe thunderstorm watch today.
