Arrest after Cornwall business gets funny money

CORNWALL – A city man is accused of trying to pass off fake American $20 bills at a Water Street business just over three months ago.

The 49-year-old was arrested yesterday (April 10) and charged with uttering counterfeit money, breach of probation for going to a place he was ordered by the court not to attend and failing to keep the peace.

Police allege the man went into the business the day after New Year’s Day and gave the clerks a couple of U.S. $20 bills.
