CORNWALL – From the potato powered light bulb to the baking soda volcano, students from across SD&G and Akwesasne will be showing off their foray into science this weekend.

The 43rd edition of the United Counties Science Fair goes Saturday at St. Lawrence Secondary School at 1450 Second Street East. The show is from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The non-profit event is run by an organizing committee, as well as a team of volunteer teachers and parents.

Over $12,000 in prizes and awards are up for grabs.

Some winners will have the opportunity to represent the region at the Canada Wide Science Fair next month in Ottawa.
