CORNWALL – A Cornwall man has pleaded guilty to robbing a Second Street West gas station last year.

Larry Deserres, 59, pleaded guilty yesterday (Thursday) to robbing the MacEwen gas bar at 201 Second Street West on Oct. 11, 2017, after going inside the store and demanding money from the clerk.

In addition to the robbery charge, Deserres also entered pleas to three court breaches for failing to appear in court, failing to notify police of a change of address and failing to keep the peace.

City police were able to identify and arrest Deserres two weeks after the crime after releasing an image from a security camera in the building.

The court has asked for a pre-sentence report before sentencing in May.
