BROCKVILLE – A Cornwall man has lost his vehicle for a week after he was clocked at nearly 160 kilometers an hour on Highway 401.

Leeds County O.P.P. say the driver “performed a stunt,” blowing by a westbound police cruiser near Brockville around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Once he was stopped, “the argumentative driver disagreed with the officer saying it was not possible as he was driving 98. Turns out 98 miles per hour equals 159 kilometers per hour,” police said.

The 40-year-old had his vehicle impounded for a week and his driver’s licence suspended for the same amount of time under Ontario’s street racing law. He was also charged with stunt driving.
