CORNWALL – Police are looking for a man in connection to a stabbing on McConnell Avenue on Friday.

As Cornwall Newswatch first told you Friday afternoon, city police were investigating an “incident involving an edged weapon” at a home in the 100 block of McConnell – between Prince Albert Street and Lennox Street.

“One person was stabbed,” Const. Dan Cloutier told CNW Monday. The man was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries. “They are not serious injuries…they are not life-threatening.”

While a weapon was not recovered at the scene, Cloutier emphasized that there is no danger to the public. “It’s isolated….public safety is not a concern.”

He said the perpetrator and the victim knew each other.

“We are looking for an individual. We know who it is and (we are) looking to deal with him directly,” Cloutier said.
