SD&G – Provincial police dealt with no less than 26 crashes during the height of a heavy snowstorm in the region Wednesday (Feb. 7).

Even though we’re at the tail end of the winter season, SD&G O.P.P. are reminding motorists to stay focused and take time to prepare for winter driving.

“A leading cause of collisions that occur during the winter months is poor driving, not poor driving conditions,” Const. Tylor Copeland said.

Wednesday’s storm dumped anywhere from 10-20 centimeters (4-8 inches) of snow across SD&G.

It was also a “snow day” for students who take the bus in Cornwall and the United Counties.
