Nominations sought for business awards, Citizen of the Year

CORNWALL – The local chamber of commerce is looking for your selections for outstanding businesses and the coveted Citizen of the Year recognition.

The Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday that nominations are open for its five business awards, four individual awards, plus the breakthrough and humanitarian nods.

There’s also the Citizen of the Year, which went to Dr. Rachel Navaneelan for 2017.

Chamber President Rory MacLennan said the event will have special significance as this will be the 30th edition of the awards banquet and 128th anniversary of the chamber.

Nomination forms can be picked up at the chamber office at Sydney and Second Streets or on the chamber website.

The awards ceremony will be held in February 2018.
