CORNWALL – Former financial adviser Gilles Saucier was arrested Wednesday (Aug. 30) after turning himself in at the police station.
Cornwall police say Saucier is accused of communicating with someone two-and-a-half weeks ago (Aug. 11). At that time, his trial was underway at the Cornwall courthouse as the prosecution was wrapping up its case.
There was a court imposed no-communication order in place at the time.
The 56-year-old Saucier was held for a bail hearing on this latest charge of breach of recognizance.
Saucier, who now lives in Brampton, is in the midst of a trial on charges of fraud, breach of trust, uttering forged documents and theft by conversion.
He’s accused of defrauding investors of tens of thousands of dollars while he was the head of Gilden Financial Solutions Corporation of Cornwall.
His trial is scheduled to continue today (Thursday).
