CURRY HILL – One person is dead after a half-dozen vehicles were involved in a pileup on Highway 401 Monday, near the Ontario-Quebec border.

The westbound side of Highway 401 was closed for this afternoon and late into the evening (as of 9 p.m.) while one of the two eastbound lanes was also closed while O.P.P. reconstruction experts and traffic collision investigators work the scene.

Traffic was being detoured via County Road 2.
