NORTH GLENGARRY – A charge has been dropped against an alleged accomplice in a police chase in Glengarry County in late May.
Jessica Tiessen, 23, of Cornwall was originally scheduled to make her first court appearance in Alexandria on July 12, 2017 on a charge of obstructing police.
However, her name did not show up in the court record and SD&G O.P.P. later confirmed the charge had been dropped.
Tiessen – a passenger in a car – was accused of failing to provide information for police after her driver fled following a police chase and was taken down by an O.P.P. canine unit.
Meanwhile the driver, 24-year-old Joshua Tilley, is scheduled to go on trial in early August on charges of assaulting a police officer, flight while pursued by a police officer, dangerous driving, possession of marijuana and three counts of failing to comply with court ordered conditions.
Officers had tried to stop a car on County Road 20 in North Glengarry on May 27 when the vehicle failed to stop.
The chase was called off in the interest of public safety. The vehicle was later spotted on Street Road in South Glengarry where officers made their arrests.
