CORNWALL – One person has died of their injuries after a single vehicle rollover on a Highway 401 ramp at Brookdale Avenue.

SD&G O.P.P., Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Services and Cornwall firefighters were called to the eastbound ramps around 11 a.m. Friday.

A Toyota Sienna minivan had rolled in the ditch, coming to rest on the edge of the on-ramp.

Tire tracks could be seen in the wet grass where the minivan had left the off-ramp. A front bumper lay several feet away from the minivan, which had extensive damage.

Two people were taken to hospital by paramedics after being extricated by firefighters.

The passenger in the vehicle – a 69-year-old woman from Scarborough, Ont. – has since died of her injuries.

The driver – a 73-year-old man from Scarborough, Ont. – is still in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

SD&G O.P.P. say names won’t be released until next of kin are notified.

The eastbound ramps at Brookdale Avenue remain closed as of 2:20 p.m. Friday. The westbound ramps are unaffected.
