CORNWALL – Pieces of two vehicles and broken glass littered a Cornwall intersection after a collision involving a wrong-way driver.

Emergency responders were called to a two vehicle crash at Augustus Street and Seventh Street around 11:15 p.m. Sunday night.

Const. Dan Cloutier told Cornwall Newswatch their investigation determined one vehicle was going the wrong way on Augustus Street when it collided with a vehicle on Seventh.

Augustus Street is one-way southbound between Ninth Street and Water Street.

The wrong-way driver, a 44-year-old Cornwall man, has been charged with impaired driving.

There were no details in the police report about any injuries, Cloutier said.
