CORNWALL – The head coach for the Cornwall Colts was one of the top five for Canadian Junior Hockey League Coach of the Year.

But that title went to Greg Walters of the Georgetown Raiders in the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

MacInnis guided the Colts from missing the playoffs in 2015 to a second overall finish in the CJHL in 2016 with a record of 41-14-4-3.

MacInnis called it an honour to be named as a finalist, considering there are 132 CJHL coaches.

In March, MacInnis was named CCHL Coach of the Year.
