CORNWALL – Police are appealing for witnesses after two teenagers were struck by an SUV on Fourth Street late Wednesday night.

The collision happened around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Bedford Street.

The victims were skateboarding at the time, police said.

The two teens, ages 18 and 19, were taken to Ottawa hospital where they were last listed in serious condition.

“The driver remained on scene,” Const. Dan Cloutier told Cornwall Newswatch. “We are still looking for witnesses…what might have taken place. The more witnesses that come forward the more it corroborates the investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Const. Matt Dupuis in the traffic unit at 613-933-5000 x2755.
