MOUNTAIN – An all-terrain vehicle (ATV) ride to fund the fight against prostate cancer has had its best year of fundraising.

The Fifth Annual Nation Valley ATV Ride for Dad was held Saturday (March 4) at the Mountain Township Agricultural Hall.

Event organizers say there were 286 riders who took part and raised over $76,000.

That surpassed the previous year of $62,000 raised and 265 riders, which had been the best year until Saturday’s event.

The top three pledgers were Steve Summers, Dave Baker and Theo Janssen – the trio raised a total of $42,000 of the $76,000 collected.

Sponsorship coordinator Brentley Summers said all the riders that participated and collected pledges, committee members, volunteers and sponsors should be thanked for a successful event.

The Nation Valley ATV Club was the first chapter of the Ride for Dad Foundation of Canada.
