SUMMERSTOWN – The Cornwall Regional Airport has received a cheque for $20,000 to help develop and expand the regional transportation hub.
Municipal stakeholders held a news conference Friday to make the announcement of the money through the Cornwall and the Counties Community Futures Development Corporation.
The money will go toward a business plan for the airstrip in South Glengarry.
Both Cornwall and South Glengarry have been working since September 2015 toward a new funding formula for backing the 32-year-old airport.
Up until last year, the funding had been an 85-15 split between Cornwall and South Glengarry.
