CORNWALL – A Cornwall woman is banned for life from owning or caring for animals.

Jennifer Konink pleaded guilty last week (July 20) to two counts of animal cruelty, according to the SPCA.

Inspectors received a complaint Aug. 5, 2015 about a cat living on the roof of a porch for several days and issued compliance orders to Konink.

“Konink failed to comply…the cat…was panting heavily and appeared to be having difficulty holding itself on the slate roof,” the SPCA said in the statement.

Inspectors seized the cat and an examination by a vet revealed the feline was severely dehydrated, extremely weak, flea infested and had broken teeth.

In addition to the lifetime ban, Konink also had to surrender another cat and a rabbit and had to pay $500 in fines and restitution of $150.86.
