CORNWALL – Downtown businesses will look to capitalize on Ribfest crowds this week as many retailers offer savings or extended hours.

It’s part of the Downtown Business Improvement Association’s Downtown Summer Celebration campaign, which coincides with the four day food festival.

“We’re so happy to see popular events, like Ribfest, take place in beautiful Lamoureux Park,” Downtown BIA chairman Brenda Campbell said. “And after they have enjoyed all the park has to offer we encourage ribbers and patrons to visit our many downtown shops and businesses this weekend, where merchants are offering special deals.”

There are 16 businesses along Pitt Street taking part in the campaign so far.
