CORNWALL – Shopping and getting a seat at your favourite restaurant may be a little tougher this weekend.

The first of three Jehovah’s Witnesses conventions is underway at the Cornwall Civic Complex in the Ed Lumley Arena.

The three, three-day weekends are estimated to bring in around $1.5 million to the local economy as 7,500 delegates come to Cornwall.

The theme for this year’s convention is a loyalty – specifically remaining loyal to Johovah.

The conventions are open to the general public.

The Jehovah’s Witness conventions have been held in Cornwall since 1998.
