MONKLAND – Students from a South Glengarry high school will be heading out to a farm today (Monday) to plant vegetables for the Agape Center.

The students from Char-Lan District High School in Williamstown will visit Kozroots Garlic & Herb Farm on Gravel Hill Road in Monkland to plant a series of root vegetables.

The “Be the Boss” program is also meant to teach youth and adults about agriculture in order to spur the entrepreneurial spirit in themselves.

The project is put on by Cornwall and the Counties My Community Future Corporation, The Agape Center, Kozroots Community Empowerment Projects and the All Things Food Community Network.

Donations came from Homestead Organics, the Township of North Stormont and volunteers from the United Counties.
