SD&G – Hydro One is dealing with many clusters of outages across the region.
As of 6:30 a.m., the hardest hit areas appear to be west of Martintown where 885 customers are affected.
There’s another 200 out southeast of Maxville, 200-400 customers in and around Alexandria and another 200 northwest of Osnabruck Center.
There are also a number of small pockets of outages scattered around SD&G.
The power should be on by 3:30 p.m., the hydro utility estimates, though some places may have their power back by noon.
The area was hit with hours of rain and freezing rain, coating many trees and power lines, through Hydro One has not said what is the cause of the outages.
Due to the hydro outages, the school board has closed S.J. McLeod Public School near Lancaster.
