Typhoons bring home silver medal

CORNWALL – The Cornwall Atom B Typhoons have brought home a silver medal from the 2015 Oakville Hornets Classic Competitive Tournament.

After a tie with Burlington and two losses to Calrington and Etobicoke at the BB division tourney, the Typhoons earned a spot in the quarter-finals during the weekend tourney Sept. 19-20.

The championship game ended 1-1 in regulation before the Etobicoke Dolphins scored twice in a shootout to win the championship.

“The girls played extremely well all weekend long,” head coach Ian Laplante said. “We’re very pleased being able to walk away with a silver medal.”
